Kirkstall Bridge to Rodley (August 2016)

Beginning of our walk at Kirkstall Bridge

We were hoping for a pleasanter walk on this stretch of the canal in comparison to our last one.  I met Mum and Dad at Kirkstall Bridge and we walked approximately three miles to Rodley.

On this stretch we passed the Forge Three Rise Locks and Newlay Three Rise Staircase Locks.  We saw a boat descend in one of the locks.  For most of the walk we were walking besides nature and woodlands such as the Bramley Fall Park and we saw Kirkstall Abbey and Horsforth town centre from a distance.  We saw the a variety of boats lined up along Fallwood Marina.  It is felt this stretch of the canal is better looked after and  certainly attracts more walkers and cyclists on the towpath.

Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Rodley

It was a pleasant short walk and we now look forward to further canal adventures on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

I'll let the photographs do the talking!!!
